httThe biggest misconception out there when it comes to animal control is that ultrasonic repellent devices are just a bunch of hyped up pieces of junk. To be quite honest, this is nothing but pure baloney. These devices have been used effectively on all sorts of pests including these furry things people call a mouse (I call them annoying). The simple facts are that science doesn’t lie – at least in this debate it doesn’t. Animals like the deer are able to hear on frequency levels that are much higher than those that we as humans are able to hear. What this means is that they can hear stuff that we cannot. So here is where these electronic deer control devices come into play. They emit an “ultra” high frequency sound waves that are SUPER loud to a deer, but are a mere hum to us. I honestly cant even hear the one that I have. If you haven’t gotten the message yet, then I will elaborate. If one of these deer deterring machines are placed out in a garden, they will repel them from coming any where near it.
So what constitutes a high quality product in this particular subject? I find it really hard to differentiate them because almost all of them have the same technology in them I prefer electronic deer repellent that oscillate between different frequencies. This is BIG when it comes to being effective with keeping these critters at bay. In some occasions, they will become used to or comfortable with the sound pitches. This is not good, but has been known to happen. With an oscillating device, it changes from different levels so that this doesn’t happen. Well folks, that about all there is when it comes to ultrasonic deer deterrents so good luck.
